High Fidelity by Sam Bosma

"We tend to think animals are lower than us, but all the scientists in the world couldn’t design and operate a bumblebee’s wing. We can’t jump or run very fast, and we can’t carry vast weights like an ant can. We can’t see in the dark and we can’t fly except crammed in a noisy tube like sardines, which doesn’t count. Humans compared to animals are almost totally deaf, and we can’t smell a fart in an elevator by their standards. We are finite and separate, and neurotic, while the consciousness of an animal is at peace and eternal. We strive and go crazy to become more important. Animals rest and sleep and enjoy the company of each other. We think we have evolved upwards from animals but we have lost almost all of their qualities and abilities. The idea that animals don’t have consciousness or that they don’t have a soul is rather crass. It shows a lack of consciousness. They talk, they have families, they feel things, they act individually or together to solve problems, they often care of their young as a tribal unit. They play, they travel, and medicate themselves when they get sick. They cry when others in the herd die, they know about us humans. Of course they have a soul, a very pristine one. We humans are only now attempting with the recent rise in consciousness to achieve the soul that animals have naturally."

The down fall of smoking is that you begin rewarding yourself by having a cigarette.

It starts innocently enough. “Wow, I didn’t kill anyone at work today. I’ll celebrate with a cigarette.”

Then it suddenly turns into; “Wow, I ate dinner. I deserve a fucking cigarette, give me a fucking cigarette I’m not playing, fucker.”

You just summed up my week dude. Trying to quit is hard.

This ad campaign for a Lebanese organization called KAFA, which promotes gender equality and works to end violence against women, turns the sound wave patterns of derogatory words into physical wounds. The result is a sad but powerful reminder of just how deeply scarring verbal abuse can be.

are you fucking kidding me

this is exactly why no one likes you white people

over 12,000 followers smh

You white people? you sound just as ignorant as the attention seeking bigot who made the twitter post. “Those who anger you will conquer you”

oh my fucking god

FALL OF THE FACE OF THE GOODAMN EARTH!

for the “we’re not all like that” white girl above, yes you pretty much are. you may not all call black people nigger but the vast majority of you all don’t include PoC in your idea of people you think deserve not to be bullied (i.e.: white feminism, the shit above, non violence). Y’all never include people of color in you shitty liberal views. “Rights for gay and queer people…..well except the black ones” or “No drones on US citizens, but it’s okay to use them on innocent Pakistanis” either of those sound familiar? So, don’t try to demonize and invalidate our views of white people, while trying to venerate yourself for not being what you think is racist.

And all of you are the fucking same too. Thinking that white people are racist and don’t care about those of color, as you stated. You’re stereotyping and generalizing a population as a whole. That makes you dumb as fuck. That is absurd. You are saying we don’t include you in our liberal views? Are you fucking stupid? You go around playing the “I don’t get treated fair cause I’m black” card, that is not true. First of all, white people don’t have half the programs, TV networks, clubs, grants, scholarships as those of color have. Second of all, most of you only hang out with your own color because you’re too busy thinking the world hates you cause of your skin color. You clearly are racist and don’t have white friends because what you said is so stupid I can’t even deal.

Ps: the president is black, you ignorant bitch. *Unfollowing your ass

I’m going to kill you and eat you dumb bitch :)

Another sighting of white tears.

Let’s talk about that bolded sentence for a minute, because that is probably the most used excuse white people use to justify their hurt feelings. Well, to say it plainly, it’s a fallacy. A bold-faced lie. Bullshit. However you want to say that it’s not true, there ya go. So, the scholarships one is ass lie. Fastweb, ya know…the scholarship site, did this study and whaddayaknow? White people get the most scholarship and grant money. In general. How about that!?

So, about TV? Yeah, no sweetheart. Not even close. Did you try? Absolutely adorable. Oh, and BET is owned by Viacom, which owns channels like MTV, VH1,  Nickolodeon, AND CBS. It’s a mass-media conglomerate and here’s a list of its assets. Spoiler alert! There’s a lot of them. Oh, and the governing body, The Board of Directors, is pretty white.

Basically, you tried and perhaps before spouting bullshit, you do a little research so you won’t look stupid. I mean, that’s inevitable but you can at least try a little harder. Google is your friend. Boolean is your language. Go on and do better.

“Ps: the president is black, you ignorant bitch. *Unfollowing your ass”

THEY

REALLY

TRIED IT

THEY.REALLY.DID.TRY.IT.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWO STOP BEING SO FUCKING PREDICTABLE RACISTS

Reverse racism is not a thing.

The reason television, programs, clubs, grants, and scholarships have to market themselves as specifically for people of color is because white people think privilege means rights and doesn’t allow for anyone who isn’t white to have a fucking chance identity/representation/humanity. Anything not labeled as a specific identity is, by default, for white people.

Think we’re against them?  We fucking are.  When was the last time you saved three girls who had been missing for over a decade and became a laughing stock based on your appearance/vocabulary?  When was the last time you had to think twice before you spoke/acted due to the way it would reflect upon your community?  Never.  That is why you think it’s okay to say ignorant ass shit like this.

Do not ever speak on my behalf again.  Do not ever group white people together if you are in that mix.  Do not ever claim oppression as a white person again.  Do not continue to make poc feel unsafe/disrespected because your fucking privilege dropped half of a percent.  Do not ever fucking feel like a white fucking savior to people of color, do not be so fucking far up on that high horse you’re getting nose bleeds while telling poc to stfu and accept the generosity they’ve received so far.

POC have every fucking right to be upset with white people and to fucking hate white people.  Who the fuck are you to speak to or diminish their experience?

As a white person, it is my job to educate you.  It is my responsibility to inform you of the ways in which you are engaging and perpetuating racism.  However, when you’ve already been informed and choose to ignore it, me re-explaining is fucking racist, because it was just as valid and true when it came from a person of color.  And it’s really fucking difficult to respect someone who has such a lack of concern for others.  And I cannot forgive you for the oppressions you impose on others.

I’m still willing to help you.  I’m still willing to explain to you why what you said was wrong.  I would not have attacked you, because I’ve been an uninformed white person too and I don’t have to deal with racism in the same with poc do.  Every.  Single.  Day.  I have no right to be frustrated/upset with you, but I do have a right and obligation, as a fellow white person, to help you understand your ignorance.  But this goes beyond ignorance.  This is white privilege being exercised.  And I cannot respect you.

When you do realize what you’ve done is incredibly fucked up and want to change the system/end oppression please feel free to reach out to me.  Until then, you are not welcome here.

And for the record, I hope one day you can be.

I do not want you to feel badly about yourself.  I do not wish bad things for you.  I do not think you feeling bad will make this better.  I do not want to bully you.  This is not about being right.  This is about people.  This is about everyone feeling safe and equal.  You’ve been shielded by your privilege your entire life, and that is not your fault.  Refusing to hear the other side, however, is entirely up to you.  This is not about making you feel bad; it’s about making no one feel bad.

“Black card”…

We are all human and capable of understanding and love. Why can’t we work on bringing that beauty out from within, instead of dissecting what someone else is saying or doing wrong… Lets work on ourselves, “be the change you want to see in the world.”

Unfortunately, we do not live in a post-racial society.  Unfortunately, not calling someone on their oppressive behavior means being complicit in oppression.  Unfortunately, the world we live in is dominated by white, heterosexual, cisgender men, and, in order to be the change we wish to see in the world, it requires a complete restructuring of ideologies and systems of government.  By thinking you can only care about your own behaviors, you are helping no one except yourself.

you see this?
it’s called a razor
if you’re a girl, USE IT
your hairy legs and armpits aren’t cute okay
you’re not helping out for woman’s rights or anything
YOU’RE JUST MAKING YOURSELF LOOK NASTY

Or!
Women have been socialized to believe that they must remove hair for a number of reasons, primarily the following:
hair is historically and Biblically associated with power; we as a patriarchal culture are obsessed with keeping hair on men (facial hair, Hair Club for Men, hair plugs, whatever) and keeping it off women. You say hair on women is nasty; why is it only hair on women? Women and men have the same pubic hair. We all grow it out of our follicles for the same reason. Why is it only gross on women?
women’s bodies have been considered the property of men since the dawn of time, and therefore we have been held to a standard of beauty and attractiveness that is not determined by us but is instead determined by something called the male gaze, which is erases all sexualities and genders other than cisgender heterosexual men and assumes that women are performing for it.
childlike women are considered less “threatening” and more “feminine” because they are naive, quiet, and rely on ~*adult men*~ to take care of them.
AND ALSO:
there is a fallacy about pubic hair that it is dirty. It is not dirty. In fact, it’s there to keep your genitals cleaner. Pubic hair and armpit hair are also there to spread your pheromones around and make it easier for you to attract a mate.
all mammals have hair. We’re mammals.
AND FINALLY:
No one else’s body is your business. Ever. You want to shave? Go ahead! That’s totally your prerogative and if you’re more comfortable shaving, feel free. But given that pubic hair isn’t innately dirty, there’s no reason for anyone to remove it if they don’t want to.
You’re not sending out some edgy, hardcore message here. You’re just reinforcing what our culture wants you to reinforce. Before you pick up that razor again, think about why you want to shave. Is it just because our culture told you to? Why’d they tell you to? What’s the point?
Do what makes you comfortable and what makes you happy, and let others do the same.

Not to mention that at least in the US, shaving legs and underarms has been a thing for less than a century.
And was popularized by razor and depilatory companies. Who, of course, just wanted to double their sales by targeting women as well as men. Their marketing campaigns started in women’s magazines in 1915.
Here’s the first advertisement they ran trying to sell razors by telling women their underarm hair was “objectionable”. And it worked.
Advertising and commercialism once again enforcing arbitrary restrictions on women’s bodies~

Yes I am reblogging this again. Because of what the above person added. It’s so interesting to learn how customs come about in a culture.

Fuck yes

I’ve reblogged this before… and yep I still hate this blithering twat

The commentary here is just perfect.
